GyroStim is a computer-controlled, multi-axis rotational chair that delivers precise, motion-induced vestibular stimulation. It was originally developed by Kevin Maher to help his daughter, who has cerebral palsy, improve her balance and coordination. The device has since evolved into a versatile tool used in clinical, athletic, and research settings.
Patients are securely seated in the GyroStim chair, which rotates in controlled patterns across multiple axes. The therapy begins with gentle, low-intensity movements and can be gradually intensified based on the patient’s progress. Some sessions incorporate laser-targeting tasks to engage cognitive and motor functions, enhancing the therapeutic experience
